Understanding Survey Fees
At Selkirk-Cabinet Land Surveying, we believe in providing high-quality work and reliable results at a reasonable fee. Because every property is unique, there is no “standard” flat rate for surveying.
The cost of a survey is influenced by several critical factors:
- Property Characteristics: Size, physical terrain (heavy timber vs. open field), and steepness.
- Accessibility: Proximity to public roads and the availability of neighboring control monuments.
- Record Condition: The complexity of the property’s title history and the availability of relevant survey and historical information.
A Note on Quality: Selkirk-Cabinet will usually not be the least expensive alternative in the region. Many low-cost firms utilize unlicensed technicians as primary contacts or substitute actual field measurements with data from old maps. These “shortcuts” provide substandard results which can often lead to long-term property disputes.
If high-quality professional knowledge and direct oversight are your priorities, we are your best choice. If price is your primary consideration, other firms may be better suited to your needs.
